ABOUT US
You're a practical leader looking for
No fluff. No BS. No wasting time.
Me too.
As a health and wellness leader, you decided you are committed to making a difference in the lives of others. Whether you coach them through health challenges, create programs to impact the community, or train them so their bodies feel stronger your work matters.
Your instincts and ambition helped you thus far but now you need something else. There is only so much time in your schedule to read business books; only so many worksheets to download or experts to follow. Sometimes you need someone who can really help you figure out exactly how to lead the way you want. The kind of help that includes editing the draft of a job description, analyzing how you manage your team, giving input on what successful onboarding looks like, and coaching you through issues that arise (because they will).
GROWING A BUSINESS IS HARD.
It’s even harder if you are doing it alone.
In 2009, I launched my first business having never done it before. I didn’t have an entrepreneurial tribe, definitely didn’t fit the mold, and no one in my inner circle had ever done it before. I often call myself ‘the accidental entrepreneur’.
Ambition and instincts took me a long way but I also wasted time, money, and a few sleepless nights trying to figure out everything on my own. I stumbled. I failed at one (or maybe two) growth plans but in the end I learned a lot.
With no formal business experience, I grew my business to serve 3,000 people per year, grew from a staff of 1 to 30 people including a mix of full time, part time and contract staff. But in the end, I wasn’t in love with the work anymore. I enjoyed working with my team and managing our operations but in many ways I spent too much time outside of my comfort zone.
THEN TEN YEARS LATER, ON THE VERGE OF PERSONALLY BURNING OUT,
I SOLD IT….FOR A PROFIT.
MOST OF THE REAL BUSINESS LESSONS CAN’T BE FOUND IN A BOOK.
Hi there! I'm Lavonzell (she/her), and I think of myself as a culture co-creator who partners with leaders to build workplace environments where people feel they belong, allowing teams to innovate and thrive.
📈 how to grow a niche business even when people really don’t understand what you do;
💸 how to scale responsibly so you can afford to pay yourself and others;
👩🏾💻 how to create effective processes so that you can do more of the fun stuff!
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON OF THEM ALL WAS HOW NOT TO BURN THE F*CK OUT.
The truth is entrepreneurship is not “is not in my blood” (if that’s really a thing) but helping people succeed is. If leaders aren't born, then entrepreneurs aren’t either.
I love the business of doing business. How to make it run better, working with the team, and finding creative ways to improve every year.
